Former Area Police Officer Sentenced on Sex Crime Charges

A former volunteer fire fighter and police officer from Bluffton was sentenced on sex crime charges on Monday.

 

In Allen County Court- Andrew Probst received 4 years in prison on 8 individual counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

The victim was 14- and he was 23 at the time of the relationship.

 

Judge Jeffrey Reed said to Probst that he didn't live up to his responsibilities as an officer.

 

There was no restitution ordered in the case.

Probst can apply for judicial release after serving 6 months.
